Traveling Companions

You are bound for Sandpoint and points north as part of a caravan led by Sandru Vhiski, a Sczarni trader whose caravans travel this route often. Along with the usual crew of drivers, a cook, and a wainwright, the caravan has two guards.

The first is an unsavory looking sellsword who calls himself Sawyer (Joette). His accent suggest he hails from the city of Riddleport, an infamous den of pirates, smugglers, assassins, and thieves. He seems to know his way around a sword, but the scars on his face suggest he's been on the wrong end of one more than once.

The other is a red-haired girl named Bella (Dave). She looks like the shady sort you’d hire someone to guard you from, and barely seems old enough to be out on her own. But watching her sharpen the seemingly countless knives she has hidden about her person, you decide to keep your opinions to yourself.

In addition to its cargo of trade goods, the caravan has several passengers riding along. The first is a flamboyant bard named Sandoval Deszcu (Scott). He is quick with a joke, tale, or song, and seems incapable of quiet. He is also a Sczarni, and appears to be some relation to the caravan master, although the precise nature of the kinship seems to vary with each telling.

Riding in a wagon at the back is a sullen youth named Roderick Genterre (Brian). His clothing is in the style of Chelaxian nobility, and his accent is Korvosan upper-crust, but this is certainly not the mode of transport you’d expect for one of such breeding. He does not seem at all happy to be here, and complains constantly of the poor food, rough ride, dust, bugs, heat, cold, and low company. He carries an odd brass rod that he strokes constantly, seemingly unconsciously.

At the opposite extreme is Zhustin (Roger). He is of a similar age to Roderick, but he meets each new sight, person, and experience with an enthusiasm that is either infectious or extremely annoying, depending on your perspective. He is dressed in oft-mended wizard robes and carries a staff that is taller than he is, and which seems to be made out of … plaster?

Perhaps the oddest passenger is Shinjiro Kagemaki (Rich). His lineage clearly comes from distant Tian-Xia, across the Crown of the World, but his height and broad shoulders suggest he carries northron blood as well, and he has the distinctive accent of northern Varisia. He spends much of his time in meditation, but is friendly and open if approached.

Rounding out the group is Marie of Argavist (Leo). Her vestments identify her as a cleric of Desna. She also keeps to herself, and seems preoccupied, as if her thoughts were far, far away.
